Our Story

Meet Alex — I’m a teacher, mum, and the face behind Kudos. As a working mum, I discovered the joy of staying connected to my children’s learning at childcare. However, I realised there was a gap — a missed opportunity for schools to truly enhance family-school connections and celebrate student achievements and growth in a more meaningful and accessible way.

In 2023, driven by my passion for fostering stronger relationships between families and schools, Kudos was born. The app redefines how families engage with the school community, bringing families, educators, and students closer together. Kudos transforms the way families interact with the learning journey, making the experience simple, interactive, and enjoyable!

Benefits of
family engagement

Increased family engagement in schools offers numerous benefits for students, families, educators, and the broader school community:

Improved Academic Performance:

Students whose families are actively engaged in their education often demonstrate higher levels of achievement.

Enhanced Student Motivation:

Family involvement helps to cultivate a positive attitude towards learning and school. When students feel supported by their families, they are more motivated to succeed and strive to reach their full potential.

Positive School Climate:

Schools with high levels of family engagement tend to have a more positive and welcoming atmosphere. Families contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive school environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported.

Effective Communication:

Family engagement promotes open and effective communication between parents, teachers, and school administrators. When families are actively involved in aspects of school, they have opportunities to communicate with educators, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support student learning and development.

Increased Parental Involvement:

Family engagement encourages parents to take an active role in their child’s education. This active involvement strengthens the partnership between home and school, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for student success.

Support for Diverse Learners:

Families play a crucial role in advocating for the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English as an Additional Language, and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. When families are engaged, educators can collaborate with parents to create inclusive learning environments that meet all learning needs.

Overall, increased family engagement in schools contributes to positive student outcomes, promotes a culture of learning and collaboration, and fosters strong partnerships between families, schools, and communities.
